We should leave the judging to THE Judge! It’s so automatic for me to judge others based off what I think is right or wrong. I don’t like that. I want to become less judgmental. I think we as Christians can be the biggest violators when it comes to this. It’s funny to me how we even do it with things that don’t really matter.

Have you ever pulled in to the parking lot at church and seen someone smoking out front? What was your first thought? Did you judge that person right off the bat because he or she was smoking?

Have you ever had a car with blaring loud rap music pull up next to you at a red light? What was your first thought? Did you make a snap judgment?

Have you ever heard someone curse and automatically think they must not be a Christian?

I listened to an online sermon the other night and the speaker was talking on Your Heart’s Condition. At first I was unsure about the things he was saying but the more he talked and the more scripture he gave, the more my eyes were opened.

Basically he was saying that we should look at the person’s heart and not what they are doing or saying. That’s so hard to do though, right? That’s where leaving the judging to THE Judge comes in. The speaker really challenged me to focus more on being a witness and less on making snap judgments.

Imagine how much prisoners must think they are judged because of the situation they are in! We can make a difference in this department, you know?

I am glad God is my Judge!!! Yes, we Christians are bad about judging others.

The 2 most asked for things in a pen pal inmates will tell us they want a person who won’t judge them, and who has a sense of humor. I guess there’s not much to smile about inside, and I know they have been accused and rejected enough, and don’t need more of that in their life.

    God bless!!!

hey! good post- just curious if this speaker was a certain Christian ’slam poet’ :)

man looks at the outside, God looks at the inside - the heart. this week’s Bible verse - 1 sam 16:7? it’s all of man - we do this automatically, so ‘to not to’ (as mater would say) goes against our very nature, so we gotta actually pray to walk in the Spirit & so our flesh doesn’t raise its ugly judgmental head.

“Slam poet”?? Who me? I don’t know what that is, or what speaker you mean.
I think I am not one though :-)
How did you do the smile?

Yes, the flesh, natural man is opposed to the Spirit, with our inner new man, and we have to walk the new way, in the Spirit. Fruit of the Spirit, fruit of the flesh, pretty much opposites. Thanks be to God who always finishes what He has begun, the good work in us who are His.
    God bless!
